So, lets get started with my story of learning to code...

how it all started ?

going back 2 years ago , 2020 that was the year my college got completed and my major was in Electronics and communication engineering, and I had no confidence nor faith in myself that I can code in my life , after the college I didn't had any job I was Jobless so I tried everything I could so back in 2020 there was boom in Digital marketing so decided to give it a try and I did give it a shot I was learning hell lot of things from YouTube videos , Udemy and other internet source, I did everything I could to make myself competent and knowledgeable in this area and after gaining some confidence I started to apply for opportunities and luckily after applying to 100s of places I finally got selected as a post designer (through - Internshala(an online portal)) , it was a paid internship and I was really really happy , the money was so little but trust me it was too much for me at that point in time (Rs.3500 ~ $45) per month and I did not hesitate to say 'YES'.

after doing it for a month I was good with Canvas in designing. it was a decent experience, after this I was still looking for opportunities to earn even more so again I got one internship for a marketing firm (Rs.5000 ~ $60) , I did this one for couple of months , my main work was about social media marketing and it was more of a managing social handles for big brands , quite a experience there.

Sooner or later I realized there is very little money in this space and I got very skeptical as even full time job were offering in the range of $(100 - 150) which got me very frustrated at a point so decided to look for something else...

and luckily I got a job offer from a EdTech startup and I was so happy it was amazing , this was the first full time job offer I got in my life the money was decent for someone of my experience and I joined the company and around Aug 2021 and things were pretty good there good team, good people and good leader it was really nice.... The role was to be a Customer Representative and the worked was basically involved in responding to queries through Email and sometimes calling.

But you never know what will happen next.... Under 2 months again I got a Job Offer from a MNC IT company to work as a Software Engineer and this the point in my life where my Engineering degree was put to use , Last but not the least my family was happy for me as it was a Big company , for me it was not a great deal It was okay for me to join this company but as so happened , I Joined back in Sep 2021 and worked in a company as a Quality assurance engineer where I was testing a Salesforce Application , I did enjoy working in that project as Long as I was learning and it was challenging but after some time the work got really boring for me as it was Just testing and on top of that it was Night Shift which was even more Frustrating so I got myself released from that project after making sufficient effort and I was successful in doing so :)

I know this is getting really long and may not interest a lot of folks , I will now write the real motivation behind learning to code ,

as it happened I realized 2 things in particular :-

1) If I continue to work in a service based company I will be making only survival money all my life and never be able to live my life to the fullest , on the other hand I saw the big opportunity in coding as freshers getting out of college were getting 40 , 50 LPA from top Google , amazon and other big tech companies. and thanks to the internet I did more research on how and why these people get so much money , I mean the kind of money I will make in my entire lifetime through service based IT companies , these people are making money in a year or two , I got really amazed and motivated and was ready to challenge myself to be more valuable in the market so this was my first motivation (Money - Right Yes MONEY)

2)Although 80 percent reason was Money there were other motivations as well , I mean the ability to work Remote , Freelancing , or even starting my own EdTech company (About showing the path of Software Development to folks), what even it was it was more flexible career so I can say these 2 were my major motivation for learning to Code

I believe I answered the most important thing here , the 'WHY'

The rest I will talk about in next blog on 'HOW'

Until then , Take care !!
